We are looking for a positive and proactive individual to provide an effective accountancy assistant and support function within the Finance department in relation to rental income, service charges and utilities.
You will provide assistance to the Financial Operations Manager in the implementation of annual direct debit increases following year end processes. You will also oversee the sales ledger and monitor income received. This includes raising invoices to customers, chasing outstanding debt and reconciliation of the sales ledger accounts including month end processes.
You will also be responsible for managing the company insurance for the organisation. This includes logging property and vehicle claims with insurance companies, liaising with staff and customers to resolve queries and monthly reconciliation of the insurance control account.

You will need to have experience of accounting systems and working within an accounting service, as well as experience of sales ledger accounting. You will have strong accounting administrative skills as well as a good eye for detail.
You will need to be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing. The ability to work within a team and on your own initiative to meet department targets, with the ability to prioritise and organise a varied workload is also essential for this role.
Educated to GCSE A-C in maths or equivalent you will also be proficient in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel).

We are looking for an experienced Fire Contracts Supervisor. Reporting to the Head of Fire & Compliance within the Property & Development team, you’ll manage all fire risk assessments and actions required through our annual fire risk assessment programme. You’ll have a direct oversight of an established supply chain, focussing on the delivery of fire safety actions and remedial works which will include recording all data within a third party system.
You will maintain and build relationships with local Fire and Rescue Services/authorities in regard to fire safety across our stock, as well as work alongside the housing and marketing/public relations teams. You’ll lead and advise on customer related fire safety messages to ensure our residents are educated on fire safety matters.
As our Fire Contracts Supervisor, you’ll have experience of leading the management of a contract and completion of a building or repair project within a budget. You’ll be able to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbal with colleagues, residents and stakeholders.
You’ll hold a professional qualification – IOSH, NEBOSH, HNC/HND or equivalent, and understand current safety related regulations and legislation.
You’ll need to have a good level of administrative skills, be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and be able to work well under pressure.
A full UK driving licence and the use of a roadworthy car insured for business use is also required.

We are looking for a Project Surveyor (Fire) to join our Asset Management team. You will deliver on fire safety related projects, including projects such as the installation of sprinklers, loft compartmentation, external wall remediation works to name a few. You’ll be responsible for identifying fire related risks within the projects and arranging necessary remedial actions, working with our external advisors, Savills to ensure works are completed to a satisfactory standard.
You’ll manage contracts, including issuing orders, checking valuations, authorising payments, managing any delays to the programme and chairing progress meetings.
You’ll contribute to the wider Assets team in devising specifications and standards as well as selecting building products where these relate to fire safety.
As a Project Surveyor (Fire) you’ll have experience in managing fire related projects and leading the management of a contract and completion of a building repair or repair project.
You’ll hold a professional qualification – HNC/HND in Building Surveying, CIOB or equivalent and understand current safety related regulations and legislation.
You’ll need to have a good technical understanding and awareness of residential structures relating to fire safety. You will need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have the ability to effectively manage personal priorities and online calender to meet targets.

The Welfare and Benefits officer is tasked with providing support, guidance and advice to improve financial capability amongst Housing Solutions residents and maximise the organisation’s rental income. To investigate and implement initiatives to minimise the impact of welfare reform and Universal Credit from the customer and Associations point of view.
You will assess our customers entitlement to benefits, complete financial assessments and assist customers in making claims for Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Discretionary Housing Payments and any other benefits they may be entitled to, and to ensure they are appropriately signposted to budgeting support or debt advice.
You will proactively identify "vulnerable" claimants and prospective claimants for early intervention work on their benefit entitlements. You will support the Income Team by helping to arrange managed payments in agreement with the claimant or via direct benefit deductions.
You must have previous experience within the Welfare and Benefits sector and have working knowledge of Housing legislation. In particular, you will have worked with both the Housing Benefit and Universal Credit systems and be able to advise customers on both and the process of transfer between the two.
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience of a customer facing role and be able to manage complex caseloads and balance competing priorities. Someone who has experience of building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will be understanding of the financial difficulties that people on benefits face, whilst at the same time understanding the need to prevent rent arrears and get any arrears that do arise paid as soon as possible. You will have a natural instinct to want to help people improve their situation and you will thrive on rising to a challenge. You will have excellent listening skills and you will be able to think quickly and clearly even under pressure to ensure that the customers get the best service and advice possible.
The successful applicant will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
You will need to be able to drive and have use of a car insured for business use and a full, clean UK driving licence.
